111 – Snatch (2000)

This is a retarded scene.The case is handcuffed to a dead guy.What do you do?Chop off his hand and slip off the cuffs?Wrong.You cut off his arm and carry it around with the case still cuffed to it.Richie grow a fucking brain.

Plot holes,plot holes and more plot holes. Fuck,where do i begin?Lets see,okay,Tommys little monologue about cows and how the human digestives system hasn’t got used to dairy products is bullshit.May i refresh your memory buddy;breast milk and breast feeding,ring a bell?And then there’s the issue of the 2 replica guns.Replica guns that can shoot blanks?Come on Richie what do you take the viewer for?As for the Russian let me ask you this question.You have your hands cuffed together and a bag on your head and you escape,what’s the first thing you do?Bring your hands up to your head and remove the bag?No.You run around blind and early in the film Boris agrees to pay the two black guys 50 grand for the job and when they do it he says “here’s the 10 grand as agreed” where the fuck is the other 40?Also a replica gun can blow 4 windows in a car out in 1 shot while as an actual gun shot 3 times six inches from a window does nothing.It’s retarded stuff like this that makes this movie un-watchable for me.There’s a thousand things wrong with this film and only one right thing.Brad Pitts pikey character,great accent and every scene is pretty good.I won’t go into the plot too much but it follow the basic Richie formula:London gangsters,good guys owe money,things look bad,okay in the end.

129 – Scarface (1983)

Jesus.Imagine when this hair style was an IN thing.

I’d never seen Scarface fully until just now and it started out so good.I was enjoying it but the more the film went on the more i began to hate Tony Montana.He’s a good bad guy and all that but he’s just such a massive douche bag.I mean really he has everything,gets the girl the power and the money but somehow it just ruins him.It could be the massive amounts of coke he’s doing that begin to warp him but i guess that’s here-say. Scarface was written by Oliver Stone and Brian De Palma directed.You really do get the 80’s theme from the film with the clothing choice disco music and  the rest.There’s also some good original music in the film too.I’ll sum up the plot for anyone who hasn’t seen it,in a nut shell it’s :a Cuban guy emigrates to American,starts small doing ‘jobs’ for a gangster,he moves up the ladder and then he’s on the top rung.No one’s untouchable so eventually he gets got.Michelle Pfeiffer looks tasty in this but she could have done with a couple of cheese burgers.

148 – Casino (1995)

Al Pacino is great in this

This is third film on the trot to have a voice over narrative.While it works for some films(Trainspotting) and doesn’t for others(Kill Bill Vol 1) i think casino could have done without it,or maybe just less of it.It felt like it was an additional feature on a dvd at one point.The films not too bad,Scorsese knows what he’s at.There was few scenes that i did have beef with.Namely the car explosion scene.In the beginning we clearly see De Nero (a mannequin) explode in the car and the hood goes flying up about 15 feet.Then later on it shows a different shot and then another one.That peeved me off.Casino is about some Italian gangsters from Kansas who move to vegas to manage a casino as he’s knows his shit about betting.More riff raff from Kansas moves to Vegas,Joe Pesci,and he’s a loose cannon and not a very likable character.I won’t spoil it but he does get his comeuppance in the end.
