Nosferatu is the story of Bram Stokers which was published about 30 or so years earlier. All in all Nosferatu is a good film and well ahead of it’s time.It has some really good sequences that you wouldn’t expect from a film of it’s time. The only things i can pick at are the length of the overall film and the duration of the text cuts with some being way to long for what’s displayed on the screen, also the way in some scenes the guy is walking around in broad daylight but in others he can’t stand the light and even dies when it hits him in the end.The film gives the felling you’re watching a college students project made in the 1990’s. Something to do with the low budget and the felling from the filters. The image and clarity is amazing with most of it looking crystal clear.

Knobs

This is a Woody Allen film.I thought i didn’t like woody,i think i probably watched one of his films 15 years ago and just didn’t get his humour, but not i think it’s not so bad.Its got a few good Jew jokes.A bit self deprecating. The films about some New York hipster type intellectuals and their interaction and relationships with each other. The plot is a 42 year old guy is dating a 17 year old and dumps her to pursue another chick closer her age then changes his mind and tries to get the teenager back but it’s too late because she’s leaving for England.

250 – King Kong (1933)

Get out will ya. I've got a chair. I've got a chair god damn it!?!

Get out will ya. I’ve got a chair. I’VE GOT A CHAIR GOD DAMN IT !?!

And so it begins.First film to kick it off was this beaut,King Kong. Not a bad film overall it has some good action scenes and good cut aways for an old film and a few funny bits that still work on today’s level. The score works well in places but in other parts it can be a bit heavy and bits would have worked better if they toned it down a little. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the whole story but it’s about this David Attenborough type buck who got a map to an island where’s there’s a giant beast. So he decides to go there to make a film, but at the behest of film reviewers he needs a ‘flapper’,some eye candy,to make the film sell more. They go to the island, Kong grabs the girl and they chase him to get her back. It’s all mad craic.
I just had a few beefs with the film.

  • First of all the wall keeping Kong out is about twice his height, can he not just climb over it?Sure he can climb the Empire State building no problem.
  • Secondly there’s a big massive door on the wall to keep the guy out, which he breaks through, why not make a human sized door so he can’t get through?Or put no door in it altogether, just all wall?
