Here we have a courtroom drama with some comical characters.The lawyer for the defence is an old eccentric guy who is just out of a two week coma following a stroke.Now that’s he back he’s not allowed to drink,smoke or take serious cases.But that doesn’t stop him.He’s sneaking cigars and hiding rum in flasks and getting wasted in court.The case is there’s a guy who befriended and old rich widowed woman and then she gets killed.He stands to inherit $80,000 so he’s the prime suspect.He has an alibi but his German wife contradicts it and almost gets him sent down.Almost.A good film,funny and not too long.It does seem a little like a Hitchcock film with the twists at the end.
